Last Pool Party of the Summer

Sunday, August 30th, 6-9pm at 1401 Buckhorn rd. Sykesville, MD. Families welcome.

Come on over to the Frampton's to experience a beautifully landscaped pool, fountain, and hot tub. We'll be grilling out for your dining pleasure so bring a snack or dessert and a couple bucks to cover cost. And don't forget: A modest bathing suit and towel always go well at a pool party.

X-Factor: Super Soaker

Final X-Factor of the summer!
August 23rd, 7-9pm at the block house. 6-12th grade invited.

This week we'll be discussing Liberalism as a world religion. This is a great chance to hear some teaching on how to respectfully interact with friends and family from liberal churches.

Bring your own squirt gun, spray bottle, or bucket. We'll provide the water, the hoses, and the water balloons. Oh yeah, you might want to bring a bathing suit and towel though they aren't required. Also, don't forget to leave cell phones, ipods, netbooks at home for this one. They don't do so well getting wet.

What: to bring bag lunch or money for lunch, sunscreen, appropriate bathing suit, shades, flops, towel, (and if your parent isn't driving, $5 for gas and parking) 

Who: friends and relations Where: Delaware shores state park, towers rd parking lot, just south of Dewey. When: Meet at the church at 6am and return by 9pm.

Greg Walker was a fellow follower of Christ, English major, music aficionado, and St. Mary's college student with me. Late nights would find Greg plucking his guitar and vocal chords whilst picking people's brains about their spiritual conditions. This guy has a incomparable passion and a unique musical gift. He offers both of these in submission to his savior as a sacrifice of worship.

Daniel Coulbourne is the eldest son of Craig and Ree, missionaries to Japan, currently residing in Liberty's missions house. Ever since arriving back in the U.S. Daniel has been using his musical giftedness to help God's people come and worship him. Daniel's artistic ingenue is matched only by his prophetic passion to challenge laccadaisacal Christianity.

This event isn't officially sponsored by the youth ministry but I thought it was worthy of note. The time and content of this event would be more for high school age youth and adults.

X-Factor: Sardines

Come hang out with us. We're taking a look at world religions this summer and this week we're talking about Catholicism.

Afterwards, we'll play foosball, ping-pong, n64, wii, basketball, oh yeah and Sardines. In sardines, one person hides and then everyone else tries to find him. When you find him, you hide with him. Until there's a bunch of you packed in like sardines in one hiding spot.

no small groups the week of VBS

Because we've had so much going on with VBS, Ceilidh Meadows Service Project, and more we're going to cancel small groups this week. Please continue to work on verse memorization. In fact, this week would be a good week for families to talk about the memory verse on Thursday night together.

We are still having X-Factor on Sunday night and we'll be talking about secular humanism. You won't want to miss this one because this world religion is the one that surrounds you in post-christian America.

Lord willing, we'll also be showing a slide show of the service project. As always it's 7-9pm on Sunday night at the block house.
