Ceilidh Service Project

There's always work to be done on the farm. If you're ready for a great time of fellowship and a chance to get your hands a little dirty come on down to the Hancock farm and join us as we do barnyard repairs. If you're able to join us contact Jared Havener (information below) as soon as possible. A roster is needed of who will be working so that plans can be made for purchasing supplies. If you're planning on working, you will need to submit a waiver form (available on youth bulletin board) and $5 to the church office. However, if you are unable to make it and still wish to help out, you can donate supplies. A sign up poster is hung by the youth bulletin board listing which supplies are needed.

Who: Anyone willing to serve!
When: July 13th-17th
Where: The Hancock residence, 3911 Gamber Rd. Finksburg 21048

When: Hey, it's summer so we can go late, right? Sunday June 7th 7-9pm. We'll be done program at 8:30 so if you still have school you can go home earlier...if you want to.

Where: Block House as always! 11301 Liberty road Owings Mills MD 21117

Why: It's Summer!

Some religions make the claim that their god is the only way to experience eternal life in heaven. Others suggest that there are in fact many gods who require our worship. Moreover, there are others who infer that there are actually a multitude of avenues by which people can make it to heaven. What does the Bible have to say about this dilemma? Join us at X-Factor as we take a look at some of the world's most prominent religions. An overview will provided of each religion's beliefs with a focus being place on these religious worldviews and what the Bible has to say about them.

Summer Small Groups

Purity

Who: Students from 6-12th grade will meet in four small groups: older guys, younger guys, older girls, and younger girls. With leaders: Nick, Todd, Dave, and Jared. Annie, Carrie, Melissa, and Becky.
What: We’ll be memorizing scripture, studying purity, holding one another accountable, and praying for one another.
When: Thursday nights from 7:30-8:30pm June 11th-August 27th
Where: Guys at the Carbacks 1491 Rack point dr. and Girls at the Vances 1488 Rack point dr. Finksburg
Why: To pursue purity and holiness because the Lord our God is pure and holy.
In this order, memorize a verse before coming to small group.
1. Holy as I am holy 1 pet. 1:14-16 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."
2. Confess your sins 1Jn 1:8,9 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
3. Flee temptation Body a Temple 1 Corinthians 6:18-19a Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?
4. Temptation, a way out… 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
5. Resist the Devil James 4:7,8 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
6. Abstain from sexual immorality 1 Thes. 4:3-5 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;
7. no crude talk Eph. 5:3-4 But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.
8. Guys’ Lust Matt. 5:28,29 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. Girls’ Clothing 1 Tim. 2:9-10 likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness--with good works.
9. Guys Proverb Pro 5:20,21 Why should you be intoxicated, my son, with a forbidden woman and embrace the bosom of an adulteress? For a man's ways are before the eyes of the LORD, and he ponders all his paths. Girls’ Proverb Pro 31:30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised
10. Do not be unequally yoked 2Co 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
11. Divorce Matthew 19:4-6 He answered, "Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, 'Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."
12. Homosexuality 1 Cor. 6:9-10(11) Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
