Beach trip this Saturday 6am-9pm

When? Be there 6am sharp! We'll leave by 6:15am because there's going to be alot of traffic on the fourth of july weekend. We'll be returning at 9pm to the church.
What to do? Call or message Nick if you're coming so we can make sure we have enough seats for everybody.
Who can come? This is a family event, so bring the whole crew, bring a friend, bring a neighbor.
What to bring? Sunscreen, MODEST swimsuit, Money for dinner, breakfast and lunch in a bag (or more money to buy it; there's a snack bar) and other beach paraphenalia (we may not be able to bring everything but we can try.) If you're driving there's a $3 toll for the bridge and an $8 parking fee.
Where? Meet at the church and we'll carpool to Delaware Seashore state park between Bethany and Dewey beaches. It's the big concrete cylinders on the seaside.
Why? To enjoy God's creation and encourage one another.

X-Factor and Car Wash

X-Factor Sunday June 27th 7-9pm at the block house

Summer X-Factors are awesome! For one thing they're longer. For another they have some new and improved worship that you're going to want to experience. Dave Tracht is going to be talking about Service. We're going to be hearing various testimonies. And we're going to play whatever game you want to play.
If you're
going into 6th grade or leaving 12th...come on down and bring a friend.

Also we need your help with the carwash to benefit the Chattanooga Missions Team. Please either bring your car by between 9-12 in the morning this saturday, June 26th or come and volunteer beginning at 8am in the morning.

Summer Small Groups Thurs. nights 7-8pm

Girls grades 6-12 will be memorizing verses on contentment meeting at the Vance’s 1488 Rack Point dr Finksburg, MD.

Memorize a verse each week to recite it on Thursday night.

Philippians 4:11-13 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:6-8 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 ¶ Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Psalm 139:14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Matthew 20:28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Colossians 3:12-14 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

Hebrews 13:5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." AND Psalm 119:14 In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches.

Ephesians 5:15-17 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. 8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."

Psalm 77:11-14 I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. 12 I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. 13 Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? 14 You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. 19 GOD, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places. To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments.

Guys grades 6-12 will be memorizing scriptures on stewardship meeting at the Carback’s 1491 Rack Point rd Finksburg.

Memorize a verse each week to recite on Thursday night.

Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

Exodus 20:9-10 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates.

1 Chronicles 29:11-12 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.

Proverbs 3:9-10 Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; 10 then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.

Proverbs 10:4-5 a slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. 5 He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.

Matthew 6:19-21 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 12:15 And he said to them, "Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

Luke 16:10-11 10 "One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. 11 If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?

Acts 4:32 Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 the point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

1 Timothy 6:9-10 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, 12 so that you may live properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.

Pool Party schedule change

1) This Sunday June 6th immediately after church we'll be having a cookout to welcome our new intern, Dave Tracht, and the upcoming 6th graders. Please RSVP to church with numbers. Bring a side, we'll provide the hot dogs, buns, and paper goods.

Date Changes

2) Pool Party is now on June 13th from 6-8pm at the Vance's 1488 Rack Point drive Finksburg, MD 21048. Those entering 6th grade all the way through our recent graduates are welcome. Parents are welcome to stick around as always. Bring a side, we'll provide the hot dogs, buns, and paper goods.

Each pool party we'll be hearing from the parents of someone in the youth group. They'll share with us how God has worked in their lives. They weren't always parents and they were once youth, believe it or not, and they've got some great stories to share about God's grace.

This pool party only we'll be kicking off our summer theme: Minute to Win It. There will be competitions all summer long to see who can "win it in a minute." Featuring games like: Caddy stack (pictured above,) bobblehead, buckethead, card ninja and many more. Prize giveaways!

3) No X-Factor on June 20th. I'd forgotten that it's father's day.
