Gospel Journey and Bible Reading

seven students. six days. one unforgettable journey.

This fall students will be watching and discussing a video series by "Dare 2 Share" ministries that follows seven students as they hear and interact with the gospel. The students are from all different backgrounds: a preacher's kid, a presbyterian, an episcopalian, an atheist, an agnostic, a wiccan and an evolutionist. We're trying to figure out some of the first things about why we believe what we believe and how we can talk to others about why we believe in Christianity. The series is fun and engaging while thought-provoking. Come join us this sunday night for food, fun, songs, and games and the "Gospel Journey." 6th through 12th grade 7-8:30pm at 11301 Liberty rd Owings Mills Md 21117 in the block house.

Another new initiative that we're taking in the youth ministry is to assign daily bible reading. I grew tremendously in middle school and high school as I began to read through the whole bible for myself. When youth leave this youth ministry I want them to be able to say that they've read through the whole bible. That's why I've begun assigning passages for middle schoolers, half a chapter a day, five days a week, starting in Matthew. And for high schoolers, a chapter a day, five days a week, starting in Genesis. Please look in your church bulletin for details on what to read. God's word is living and active sharper than any two-edged sword. God's word gives life and knowledge and wisdom so take it up daily.
