Summer Youth Intern

So you need a job this summer. You love ministry and are just waiting for a church to figure that out and pay you for it. Well, that's where Liberty Church PCA comes in. You've got the gifts we've got the opportunity. You'd be working with a recent seminary graduate, Nick Hathaway who is a youth pastor at Liberty Church, PCA. Liberty is a kind and generous country church seated on a picturesque property abutting the pristinely wooded Liberty Reservoir. You'd be working with youth from 26 families trying to live out an intentionally biblical youth ministry. You'd be charged with figuring out how your particular gift mix and personality can bless and grow God's people in this particular context. You would be given training in 9 different areas. Please pick up a job description and application from the office. Look, we'll pay you well, and give you flexibility to use your gifts in this context. What more could you ask for? Spring Charge

You charge your cell phone (almost) every day, how often do you charge your soul?

"Everybody has their own interpretation of the bible." True. But is there a correct interpretation of the bible? Is there a correct way to read anything? Yes. So let's try to figure out how to read the bible correctly. Oh, and let's do it together, at a house on the water, with good food and fun games. So come March 6-8. It's only $50!
Get your $25 deposit and registration form in by March 1st. Spaces are limited.

What to Bring: Bible, notepad, pen, sleeping bag (or sheets) & pillow, layers of clothing, towel, toiletries, and $5 for dinner. (Optional: fishing pole or board game)
What Not to Bring: Game Systems, Chickens, Cellphones, Kittens, Ipods, Alpacas, and Airsoft Guns. (I know you love them, but they’ll be there when you get back.)

Come to X-Factor from 7-8:30 sunday March 1st for an all out MANHUNT. We'll be splitting into two teams to play hide and seek all over the Liberty Church PCA grounds. Wear warm clothing, shivering gives away your position. Listen for the "Olly, Olly, Oxen-Free" call or you might be left hiding long after the game is over. Warning: don't hide in the woods; what might happen to you is unmentionable.

My grandmother Hathaway passed away on Sunday morning and so Annie and I will be going up to Rhode Island for her funeral this upcoming weekend. Therefore the sleepovers scheduled for the 29th will be rescheduled at a later date.


Guys, (and gunslinging girls,) there is an Airsoft Battle scheduled for tomorrow from 1-5pm at Alex Bruce's house. His address is 2849 Benson road. Finksburg MD 21048. To get there from the church go west on Liberty road, North on 32, Right at 91, Right at Deer Park, Left at Benson, then it's the fourth driveway on the right.

Please remember to bring your safety goggles, ammo, and airsoft gun.

Old School Christmas Caroling

Okay, not that Old School...
But this is like the one time a year when you can sing to people without having them stone you. So, since we won't get stoned and since we have great reason to sing because of the good news of God's salvation in Jesus Christ, let's go caroling! Please come and join us in caroling to the residents at Oakland Manor and Chapel Hill nursing homes. Even if you're not a big singer you will bless others if you at least come and lip sync.

This is a youth event but everybody is invited. Christmas is a time to be with family and serve others so bring your family to come caroling with us. Hey, you do lots of stuff for yourself at Christmas... come join us in doing something for others (and I bet you'll get something good out of it too.)

Who: Everybody is invited to sing.
When: Decemeber 21st 7pm-9pm
Where: We'll be meeting at Oakland Manor at 7pm. From the church take a left on Liberty rd. At the light take a right on Oakland Mills rd. Go aproximately 1/10th of a mile and turn right at the sign for Oakland Manor. Then at 8pm we'll travel down the road to Chapel Hill. From Oakland Manor take a left on Oakland Mills rd., take a left on Liberty road. After the light at Wards Chapel, take your second left on Robosson. Chapel Hill nursing home will be about 100 yards down on your right.
