Airsoft Action Oct 27 8-11:30 AM

It's that time again. Time to shoot friends and get shot for fun. We'll be playing several rounds of Airsoft on the church's grounds on October 27th from 8-11:30 AM.  Meet at the block house at 8 AM.  We'll finish by 11 AM and finish cleaning up by 11:30 AM.  Guys and Girls of any age are invited to play. Bring your own gun and ammo (we have some extra.) Bring your own eye protection and cold weather gear.

Gentlemen (only), you are invited to spend the night on October 26th and help clean up after the Fall Harvest Festival. If you're not helping during the Festival, you may come at 8pm Oct 26th to help clean up.  We'll be sleeping in the Old Sanctuary. Airsoft paraphenalia stays in the block house.

Volunteers Needed for Fall Harvest Festival Oct 26 5-8pm

Every year hundreds of folks from our community come to Liberty's Fall Harvest Festival. This is a great way to serve our neighbors and minister the great grace that we've been shown in Christ. We're stepping it up this year and including another moonbounce (fingers crossed) a costume contest/parade, weenie roast and s'mores at the bonfire, and a teen hangout in the block house. We're doing all this in addition to our usual games and candy in the gym. So we need your help.

I'm looking for groups of two or three to run a game or activity all night. Here's what I still need volunteers for: (come in costume if you like)
Football Throw game, Bowling, Ball Pool, Lollipop Tree, Pumpkin Painting, Candy Distributors, Moon Bounce bouncers, Evangelists, Costume Contest judges, Bonfire chefs, Block House Hosts.

So far Caleb T. and Micah C. are signed up to run the Hockey game, Nathaniel D. on bowling, Kaiah and Kylie on pin the pumpkin, Dan H. and Caleb C. on whack-a-mole.

I also need your help publicizing this, telling friends and Liberty Christian School alumni, and responding to our facebook event.

Finally, I need your help praying that this event would be a place where we could share the love of Christ with our neighbors.

It's also a great place to bring friends and neighbors who don't already believe.) We'll be using Lee Stroebel's "Case for Faith" and "Case for a Creator" to help answer the big questions.

Updated youth group time and cancelled event

Summer youth group is 7-9pm most Thursday nights. Refer to the google calendar at the bottom of the page for specific dates.
Due to low interest we will not be having a trip to Adventure Park USA. The Hancocks however have graciously opened up their home and pool to us. So on Wednesday June 13th from 8am to 12 noon we'll have swimming and game playing at the Hancocks. I know 8am is early for a summer morning it's just that some of us like to play games that take a long time to play. Come when you wake up and bring your bathing suit. Baccalaureate and a Dam Walk

Please join us in congratulating our graduating high school seniors this Sunday after church. We will be having lunch in the fellowship hall immediately after worship so I could use some help setting up tables, chairs, and laying out plasticwear for our meal between sunday school and service this sunday. Please RSVP to the church office by friday with numbers for your family if you're planning on attending since we will be ordering sandwiches. Also, please bring a side or dessert to share.
If you are one of the graduates families, this is a reminder that I need you to gather 10-20 digital pictures of your graduate that I can turn into a slideshow. I will need them by early friday morning. If you need to scan pictures in, you can come into the church office to do so on friday morning. You will also need to prepare a brief word for your graduate. This might include some joking, some challenging, and some congratulating. The youth ministry will provide a gift for each graduate.
The night of Sunday the 20th, we'll be meeting at the Liberty Dam (drive all the way down to the dam itself) promptly at 7pm and walking back to church on the fire path through the woods. Bring a comfortable pair of sneakers. Call Nick at 443- two eight six- 5886 with any questions regarding the walk.

30 hour Famine and Chattanooga Dinner

Those who are doing 30 hour famine: Remember to contact friends, family, and church members to get donations to raise money to feed the hungry. I've had several church members tell me they're just waiting to be approached about supporting fasters. Please contact folks to ask for donations. If you still need a donation sheet come by the church office.
Begin your fast from food (or modified fast for those with health issues) at 12 noon on Friday. Because of lack of volunteers we will not be holding a sleepover on Friday night. Instead, arrive at the church at 8am on Saturday so that we can travel down to Grace EP in Davidsonville to listen to Covenant Seminary Professor Jerram Barrs talk about "Who is my neighbor?" We will return to church at 1 pm. Then we will do activities at the church until 6pm. Parents, come at 6pm with an entree or salad to share. We will break our fast from 6pm to 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. (Also, if you'd like you can bring a small donation to Grace EP for letting us attend their conference.)
You can attend all or part of the 30 hour famine activities but please let me know through email so that I can plan accordingly. thehathawayhome@gmail.com

Cuatro de Mayo! Mark your calendars for the Chattanooga Fundraising Dinner here at the church on May 4th. We'll be serving Mexican style dishes and raising money for our Mission Trip. Meal to start at 6pm.

Holy Ghost!!!

I’ve heard about Jesus and I think I know who God the Father is but who, or what, is the Holy Spirit?

Is the Holy Spirit that important? What does the Holy Spirit do?

Is the Holy Spirit like a ghost or more like the Force in Star Wars?

Is the Holy Spirit less of an ‘it’ and more of a ‘he?’

Are fruits of the Spirit real or just made up? Should I see them?

Are spiritual gifts real or are they just glorified personality traits?

What does it mean to be filled/ sealed with the Holy Spirit?

Jared Havener: was a youth intern with Liberty Church PCA in the summer of 2009. He did a magnificent job of connecting with youth, engaging with them through sports and activities, and teaching them on a weekly basis in small groups and through talks. Jared’s talks on world religions could have sufficed for college lectures they were so full of content. And yet his demeanor and style communicate even to middle school students in such a way that they can grow in their understanding and be challenged.

Jared lives outside of Pittsburgh and is currently working and going to graduate school at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He recently married his great friend Kelsey who is beginning a career in occupational therapy

Jared loves soccer and played for Lancaster Bible College. He was a passionate fps gamer. Currently his hobbies are spending time with his wife, hanging out with the youth group, and reading the heaviest theology he can get his hands on.
